Crews size up a small bus which rolled over on the highway at the Jumping Pound overpass. Crews from 71 Station and 50 Station responded to this incident.
Two company employees sustained only minor injuries, but a passenger became trapped with his leg under the passenger door frame of the bus.
Extrication was accomplished using airbags to lift the bus up off the patient, before transferring to a spineboard and the STARS team's stretcher.
A shot of the bus after the extrication was completed shows how high the airbags and cribbing were able to lift the vehicle. (The long silver poles are tension buttresses, designed to further stabilize a vehicle on its side.)
