RMES has contracts to provide emergency services to several regions.
We are the primary responders for the townsite of Redwood Meadows, the area of Rockyview County surrounding and including the hamlet of Bragg Creek, as well as the areas of Kananaskis Country that are accessible from highway 66, including the McLean Creek day use area. We are also the primary responders for the west side of the Tsuu T'ina First Nation Reserve.
We provide mutual aid response at the request of Rocky View Fire Services to a variety of calls in a fast area covering approximately the Calgary City limits to Scott Lake Hill on highway 1 and to the Cochrane city limits on highway 22.
We will also respond to anywhere another emergency service requests us and have gone into the Municipal District of Foothills, the Municipal District of Bighorn, the City of Calgary and the town of Cochrane among other places.
Our primary response area covers an area of about 460 square kilometers. Our total response area is however bigger and is approximately 1000 square kilometers large. In comparison, the city of Calgary has a total area of only 726.5 square kilometers.
